NID PLATFORM – NEW ITALIAN DANCE PLATFORM
EDITION 2015

NID_ NEW ITALIAN DANCE PLATFORM now in its third edition, originates from the common objectives of some of the dance companies members of A.D.E.P. (Associazione Danza Esercizio e Promozione within Federdanza/Agis ) made in RTO (Temporary Group of Organisms), the Ministero dei Beni e delle Attività Culturali e del Turismo – Direzione Generale Spettacolo, which for the 2015 edition closely cooperates with the Regione Lombardia.

The shared purpose is the realisation and implementation of a project aimed to support significantly promotion and distribution of the best productions of the Italian Dance.
Regione Lombardia was designated as the seat of the initiative also because of the exceptional event of EXPO 2015.
Brescia was chosen as elective city initiative that will host from 8 to 11 October 2015.
The third platform, after Puglia and Toscana, presents itself as a special edition because, in the context of EXPO 2015, will take place in advance of the biennial and will benefit from an international value even more important.
The project confirms once again as a new driving force for development of the market of live performance in the field of dance and as a meeting and synergy between production and distribution, through the presentation of a series of shows and meetings between operators national and international.
Through the development and implementation of a “format” operating in an integrated plan of proposals, to be able to exploit the different expressions of national choreographic scene and let dialogue in a cross with the dance system, NID Platform 2015 offers a triple role:
– expand and renew the current market Italian dance, facilitating the circulation of a greater number of productions;
– promote and spread the most important Italian choreographic production within the international market, encouraging their knowledge at accredited foreign programmers and developing exchanges between them and the artists for the greatest internationalization of the scene;
– promote the involvement of the public by increasing, with different actions, interest, preparing the show and training.

NID_ New Italian Dance Platform hopes to contribute to the development and enrichment of the market – both in terms of the demand and supply – in a virtuous cycle where the “Made in Italy” is supported by a clear cultural policy, creating not only an experience in which they can mature real professional collaborations between production and distribution nationally and internationally, through the presentation of a showcase, but also with moments of confrontation between different professionals aimed at “sharing” best practices, through targeted activities and collateral thematic panels.
In this view the shows will be identified for composing a showcase, in its many different genres, the best reality that the most innovative and interesting emerging choreographers can offer.

An artistic committee, formed by italian and international programmers with proven experience and professionalism, last April identified the shows, among those proposed, as indicated in the notice to be published on December 22, 2014, on the website of NID Platform, Ministero dei Beni e delle Attività Culturali e del Turismo – Direzione Generale Spettacolo, Regione Lombardia, città di Brescia, of C.L.A.P.Spettacolodalvivo (ex Danzarte) leader of RTO for 2015 edition of NID Platform, in collaboration with Associazione Culturale ArtedanzaE20, CRO.ME – Cronache e memorie dello Sperttacolo, CSC Anymore / Festival Danza Estate and DanceHaus – Milano and other institutions belonging to RTO.
The selection took into account the plurality of languages and poetics of the most recent Italian productions. All this will make of Brescia a big stage, place of confrontation with reality to activate international collaborations and exchanges in the spirit of new transnational projects for dance.
